Welcome to Children's Dental Health Association

Since 1952, Children's Dental Health Association of San Diego has dedicated itself to providing dental services and education to underprivileged children in San Diego. The Association funds our Children's Dental Health Center, School-Based Program and orthodontic Programs reaching out to the children of our community. Our Center, located near downtown San Diego, has cared for generations of children. Our School-Based program, established in 1996, sends dentists to local low-income schools. Each year thousands of children receive on-site dental exams, cleanings, sealants and education. Our caring and experienced staff at the center provide a high level of care and work hard to maintain a positive environment for our deserving patients.

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Welcome to Children's Dental Health Association's donations page. The tradition continues and if you are reading this you are about to become a part of the tradition and a long heritage of a remarkable 68 years of providing dental care to San Diego’s underserved children. Thanks to owning the building we operate our many programs out of, we can deliver our services very economically. We consistently plow around 90% of our expenditures into program services and in 2019 actually hit 95%. This means your donation is actually providing dental care for a child.


The Dental Center, as always, continues to provide high quality care to San Diego's underserved children treating about 3,000 children annually. The school-based program (currently on hold due to Covid-19), under the direction of Beverly Hom, provides over 3,000 exams and places sealants on almost 4,000 teeth annually. The school-based program provides us the unique opportunity to examine a lot of children in low-income schools that would otherwise go untreated. Our Ortho program under the direction of Dr. David Gilmore has created beautiful smiles for many children that would have otherwise never been afforded the opportunity. Thanks to incredibly dedicated staff and volunteers, we deliver a high quality of care efficiently and economically, making us the preeminent program in San Diego County.


With your help and support we have come a long way and impacted many Childrens’ lives. With your continued support there is sure to be a lot more smiles among San Diego’s underserved children.
